Meet the Nurses

We have two nurses at NJH- Andi Goodson and Leah Huff.  Please do not hesitate to contact us with any questions or concerns you may have about your student, medications at school, or any health care needs throughout the year.

Many of the health forms that the district requires can be found on the District Home Page under the "Health Services Department".

*All medications are required to have a parent/guardian's permission to administer them at school, and all medications must be administered by the school nurse unless other authorized arrangements have been made.

Please pay special attention to the fact that medications are to be dropped off or brought to school by a parent. No medication is allowed on a school bus. All medications need to be clearly labeled, including the name of the medication, the name of the student, time of medication administration, AND signed by a parent or guardian.

Due to Missouri State Immunization laws, ALL INCOMING 8th-grade students are required to have a TdaP and Meningitis immunization on file. Students routinely receive these immunizations after the age of 10- so your student MAY have already received these immunizations. In this case, an additional TdaP and meningitis is NOT needed, please simply update your child’s immunization record with the school nurse showing those immunizations. Students are not allowed to attend school unless adequately immunized or an exemption is in place. Please contact the nurse for exemption information.

The school offers Acetaminophen (Tylenol), Ibuprofen (Advil/Motrin), Tums, Benedryl, and cough drops to students with parent’s permission- contact your school nurse for questions.

The school does not provide feminine hygiene products so please remember to send your child with these items as necessary.
