Parent Checklist for Students New to Nixa
New to Nixa School District?
Use the following list to make your transition easy!
- GET REGISTERED. This can be done in person at 308 S. Little Eagle Drive or online at NIXA REGISTRATION. Call 417-724-6375 with registration questions. *Note: We will not be able to assist your student until this step is complete. It is VERY important that you provide the Registration Office with the name and phone number of the last school your student attended. We cannot build a student's schedule until we have received records from their previous school.
- CHOOSE ELECTIVES. Click HERE to complete the 7th grade form. Click HERE to complete the 8th grade form.
- SETUP A SCHOOLPAY ACCOUNT. SchoolPay will give you access to your student's lunch account, permission slips, and purchase links for special classes (fees, t-shirts, etc). Choose "Create an Account" on SchoolPay's website HERE.
- GET THE NPS APP. Visit HERE for the app and be sure to add "Nixa Junior High" to your selected schools in order to receive important notifications.
- SCHEDULE BUS SERVICE. Contact the Bus Barn at 417-724-1555 to get a transportation plan created.
- INTERESTED IN SCHOOL ACTIVITIES? Visit our ACTIVITES PAGE to see how your student can get involved. If they would like to play sports, you will need to create an account on FINAL FORMS to get started.
- APPLY FOR FREE/REDUCED MEALS (if needed). Click HERE.
- NEED FAMILY ASSISTANCE? Click HERE.
- DISCUSS HEALTH NEEDS WITH THE NURSE. CLick HERE.
- ATTEND ORIENTATION. Bring your student to the 7th Grade Orientation OR 8th Grade Schedule Pick-Up & Open House events. Details on these events can be found HERE.
