A partnership between Nixa Schools and Missouri State helps paras working in the district become special education teachers. The two-year program focuses on everything a teacher will need to succeed in the classroom. The first graduating class from Nixa is now enjoying their time leading their students to success and encourages anyone interested to take the time to go through the process.

A few years ago, then JTSD student Reznick Crawford saw people going hungry in our community and wanted to do something about it. After talking with his principal, Dr. Jennifer Chastain, about using their school garden to help with the problem, they got ahold of the McCauley Foundation, who took the reins on the project and ran with it. Now, six years later, after a large donation from the USDA, the junior high is home to a self-sustaining aeroponic farm that is supplying fresh food to Least of These. Horticulture teacher Allan Blaue and his students are learning how this innovative technology works while feeding the hungry in our area. Thank you to the McCauley Foundation, the USDA, T-Mobile, Bass Pro Shops, MFA Oil, White River Electric Cooperative, and Grow Hope Farms for your support of this project!
